Volta Driver's Guide

Everything you need to know about driving your Volta EV.

    1. Operating Your Volta

    ▶Starting

    1. Start: Press Start on the Key Fob.
    2. Power: Press the Start button in the vehicle twice.
    3. Initiate: Set the gear knob to N for 3 seconds.
    4. Gear: Turn the knob to D (Drive) or R (Reverse).
    5. Go: Gently press the paddle to move.

    ■Stopping

    1. Neutral: Turn the gear knob to N.
    2. Power Off: Press the Power button twice.
    3. Lock: Press the Stop button on the Key Fob.

    2. Battery Operations

    • •Battery Care: Avoid dropping below 20% charge. If storing for over 10 days, keep it at 80%.
    • •Battery Display Meter: To check your battery utilization, refer to the battery display meter. Even when the vehicle is off and the display is off, simply press the small button on the right side of the display to see your battery utilization without starting the vehicle.

    3. Braking & Acceleration

    • •Parking Brake: Your Volta has two pedals — STOP (brake) and GO (accelerator). On top of the STOP pedal, you will find a smaller second pedal labeled PARK. Press the PARK pedal to lock the vehicle in brake mode, for example when parked on a hill.
    • •Acceleration Sensitivity: The accelerator pedal is highly sensitive. Even with small, slight presses you will find the vehicle accelerating. Apply gentle, gradual pressure for smooth driving.

    4. Maximizing Your Range

Your Volta is rated for 90 km on a full charge. To consistently achieve this range, pay attention to how much energy you draw while driving.

    Reading the Battery Meter

Your battery display meter shows real-time energy draw in Amps (A) while driving. This tells you exactly how much power you are pulling from the battery at any given moment. The harder you press the accelerator, the higher the amperage.

    The Sweet Spot: 40–80 Amps

💡 TIP: Keep your driving in the 40–80 Amp range for optimal efficiency and maximum distance.

✓Below 40A: Very efficient — great for flat roads and light cruising.
★40–80A (Optimal): Ideal driving range. Smooth performance while preserving battery and maximizing distance.
⚡Above 80A: High energy draw — sustained driving here significantly reduces total range.

Tips for Getting the Full 90 km

    1. Accelerate gently: Press the pedal gradually — avoid flooring it from a stop.
    2. Maintain steady speed: Consistent cruising uses far less energy than frequent stop-and-go.
    3. Watch the meter: Glance at your amperage display regularly and ease off when you see it climbing above 80A.
    4. Plan your route: Flat roads consume less energy than hilly terrain.
    5. Reduce unnecessary load: Extra weight in the vehicle increases energy consumption.

    5. Cleaning Your Volta

Your Volta's fiberglass/composite body requires gentle care to maintain its finish:

    • •Recommended Product: Use Sonax Xtreme Brilliant Shine Detailer (BSD) — ideal for fiberglass and gel-coat surfaces.
    • •UV Protection: Fiberglass is prone to UV oxidation and yellowing. BSD provides a strong protective layer against sun damage.
    • •Water Repellency: Creates a hydrophobic coating so water and dirt bead off, keeping the body cleaner for longer.
    • •Easy Application: Simply spray on and wipe off with a microfiber towel — no heavy buffing required, which is safer for thin fiber panels.

Mud & Heavy Dirt Cleaning (Two-Bucket Method)

⚠️ IMPORTANT: Never use a hose, pressure washer, or running water directly on the vehicle. Water can reach the batteries and EV motor, causing serious damage.

Use the Two-Bucket Method to clean safely:

    1. Bucket A (Soap): Fill with water and a pH-neutral car soap (e.g., Chemical Guys Tough Mudder or Sonax Profiline Actifoam).
    2. Bucket B (Rinse): Fill with clean water only — this is for rinsing your wash mitt.
    3. Wash: Dip a Microfiber Wash Mitt into Bucket A, gently wipe a section of the car, then rinse the mitt in Bucket B before re-dipping in Bucket A. Repeat section by section.
    4. Dry: Wipe down with a clean, dry microfiber towel.

    ⚠️ Avoid These Mistakes

    • •Don't rub dry mud with a cloth — it scratches the gel coat.
    • •Don't use dish soap — it strips protection and makes fiber "chalky."
    • •Don't use sponges — they trap sand and scratch the surface.

Why BSD Makes Future Washes Easier

When you apply Sonax XTREME Brilliant Shine Detailer after washing, you create a hydrophobic barrier that makes every future wash faster and gentler:

    • •Encapsulation: Dust and mud sit on top of the detailer's polymer layer instead of bonding to the porous fiber surface — so dirt lifts off with minimal effort.
    • •The "Shedding" Effect: The hydrophobic coating causes water (and the dirt it carries) to bead up and roll off. Most mud will slide off with just the first bucket of soapy water.
    • •Anti-Static Shield: BSD helps dissipate the static charge that fiber bodies naturally hold, meaning less fine desert dust gets "pulled" toward the car while parked.

    6. The Volta Experience (Feel the Power)

The Volta is designed for agility and precision. Once you are moving, take a moment to experience the engineering:

    • •Instant Torque: With a 7.5 kW motor at 72V, the acceleration is immediate. Feel the power the moment you touch the paddle.
    • •Agility: Test the steering by pushing it left or right. The Volta can perform very tight circles and maneuvers.
    • •Harmony: Notice how the Power Steering and Power Brakes work together to give you total stability and confidence during quick maneuvers.

    7. First-Month "Peace of Mind" Program

To ensure your Volta is performing perfectly, we provide a dedicated support period during your first month of ownership:

    • •Weekly Inspections: For the first 4 weeks, we will conduct regular maintenance visits.
    • •Precision Tuning: We will handle wheel alignments, system checks, and any minor adjustments.
    • •Personal Support: We resolve any small issues on the spot so you can focus on the drive.
